Welcome to All Fields Baseball! The goal here is to bridge the somewhat senseless gap between the classic "eye test" and standard statistical evaluations with a sabermetric approach.

I'm frequently amazed at how people who so love the game do their best to create a divisiveness among the old school and new school - as if there isn't room for both.

All Fields Baseball will embrace all schools of thought and discuss players, teams and, in particular, baseball history from both of these perspectives.

The site begins as we approach the Hall of Fame election for induction in 2020, a class that begins with Modern Era committee nominees Ted Simmons and Marvin Miller.

Thoughts on the Modern Era ballot are our initial entry, and our formula for  evaluating players for enshrinement is discussed here.
